A bunch of errands   Recently updated!

Today was a busy day for Felix, me, and cousin Tamara. I really didn’t want to leave the house before we left, and had a silent panic attack on the couch for about 20 minutes or so. But it subsided enough that I was able to leave on time.

Our first stop was my psychiatric nurse practitioner. With all the changes going on in my life, I’ve been very anxious often and most of the day. I’ve been waking up in the morning really early with my mind racing, too. So I told the nurse what’s been going on and she decided to increase my antipsychotic and increase my valium to twice a day– once in the morning and once midday. The antipsychotic I take at night and the increased dose should help my sleep at night. Unfortunately I have to get bloodwork done, too, sometime in the next few days.

After that, we headed to Walmart where Tamara had to return some items. Brad has multiple chemical sensitivities, and we needed to return unopened scented items. I took my wheelchair and had Felix on the floor. He did a really good job! He’s never been in this Walmart before. He was heeling like a champ and ignoring everything! We also had to pick up some prescriptions and buy some vinegar.

Tamara took a video of Felix heeling and doing a 360 right turn. She didn’t realize that she was verbalizing her inner monologue, so the video is captioned with her comments about feeling like a stalker and that I am a sexy lady LOLOLOL! Here it is:

There was also another service dog in the store, but I didn’t see it. Tamara did, and I think Felix did, too, but he just looked a little more interested in things passing behind us than usual.

He was OK during checkout, though sniffed the shoes of the checkout attendant while I was looking for my food stamps card. Luckily the guy didn’t mind!

Then we headed to The Dollar Tree to return more scented items. We were in line behind a woman with 5 little kids who were very respectful and asked lots of good questions. When it was time to pass them to get to the cashier, the woman screamed and ran away. Apparently she was afraid of dogs, and I didn’t know it! So I apologized, and when she needed to leave, I backed up so she could get by and she was very thankful.

Next we headed to Aldi, where I stayed in the car while Tamara returned the last of the scented items and some Whey protein powder.

You’d think after all that we were done, but I had to stop by the pharmacy (luckily a drive through!) to pick up my meds. And right next door was a Harris Teeter with a Starbucks. I had a $3 drink coupon, so I ordered through the app and Tamara went in to pick my drink up.

Finally we got home, and are taking care of more things that need to get done! I look forward to my new medication regime and hope that it helps me out!
