This morning I was really struggling, but I had to go to the grocery store to get a few items due to a really messed up Walmart pickup experience. I decided to pouch Hestia so that she could be right on my chest to provide pressure therapy and support for the outing.
It was amazing because before we got geared up and got her in her pouch, I was nearly hyperventilating due to anxiety. But as soon as I got her in the pouch and she settled in against my chest, I could immediately feel the anxiety levels drop.
My anxiety remained pretty much nonexistent while I was in the store, thanks to Miss Hestia!
We were able to get everything we needed in about 10 minutes, and I did have two masks on, so I hope it wasn’t too risky exposure wise.
I got a few pics before we went into the store, and some inside the store as well. In the pictures, I am a round white woman wearing a lavender top, purple and pink leggings, and a galaxy mask. Hestia is a small white and black dog with a smushed nose and googley eyes in a rainbow pouch with a big service dog patch on it. All but one of the pictures are selfies– with some really interesting about-to-storm skies in the background of most of them. I did ask a bagger to take a picture of us at the end of our trip so you could see what we look like to others, and to help commemorate how proud I was of myself and Hestia during the outing!
I know what you mean about hard to get out. I always carry Eowyn on my left arm except in seat of grocery cart sometimes.
