Mixing things up on my birthday 1

Today is my 40th birthday! I have had a wonderful day!

When I woke up in the morning, I went to Starbucks to get my free birthday drink! I got a decaf iced flat white with sugar free vanilla and sugar free cinnamon. A flat white is like a latte only with more coffee and less foam. I ordered via the app, and since the drive through line looked like it was about 10 minutes long (seriously there were about 10 cars in line!) I decided to go in to get my drink.

I ordered via the app while I was in the parking lot and then immediately went in, so my drink wasn’t ready. A barista asked me which order I was waiting for, and he found it several tickets further along the line. He was very nice and let me jump the line and made my drink right away! Then because I had Hestia with me, he offered me a puppachino.

For those who don’t know, a puppachino is a small cup of whipped cream for dogs that they give out free. Normally since Hestia is a working service dog, I don’t let her have one. But today’s my birthday so I decided she and Ollie would get a treat!

I gave her half of the puppachino in the car when we got in and she LOVED it! Like seriously she acted like it was one of the best things she’s ever eaten in her life! I took half of it home to Ollie, who enjoyed it but not nearly as much as Hestia did.

After I drank my drink, Brad let me read some of the new Twilight book from Edward’s point of view out loud to him while he got ready for the day.

Then we headed out to Jaipur which is an Indian restaurant we haven’t tried before. My sister bought us lunch/dinner! We got alu tikki (spiced potatoes), garlic naan (garlic bread), vegetable vindaloo (a spicy tangy dish), bhindi bhaji (an okra dish), and lamb kashmiri (a lamb dish made with fruit). It smelled very good on the way home and I couldn’t wait to eat it!

After lunch, I started watching Super Troopers as my friend Scarlet and I had been talking about the movie. I had to pause it when my amazon order arrived– my new KitchenAid mixer arrived! It is an awesome mixer and the nicest deep teal color. The color has been discontinued, so we got a refurbished mixer. It looks great! I have to wash the bowl and paddles before using it, so I haven’t tried it yet. But we did get some pictures of me with it!

In the pictures, I’m wearing another of my birthday presents, a dress from Brad’s parents! It’s a dusky rose color dress, long with capped sleeves.

After a quick picture session, I made some maple syrup sweetened rice krispie treats and put them in the fridge to harden.

I was almost late starting the watch party for Airplane! Airplane is one of my favorite movies of all time, and I invited lots of friends and family to watch it with me via Netflix Party. It was really fun to watch the movie and to talk with friends and family while it was on.

After the movie, we took some pictures of Brad with my rice krispie treats, and now I’m writing my blog entry. After this I’ll finish watching Super Troopers and then read more Twilight until bedtime.

What a lovely day! Thanks to everyone who wished me happy birthday today and who helped make my day so special!
