Today I woke up in no pain! I am so happy I am finally recovering from my surgery. I was able to give Hestia a walk in the morning before meeting Tammy with Phoebe to give a Manners Evaluation.
When I saw Phoebe waiting outside TJ Maxx, I was stunned by her beauty! I was soon to be stunned by her good behavior he he he!
Phoebe is a black standard poodle in a typical poodle haircut. She was wearing a lavender vest and a red collar with “Phoebe” on it in metal with rhinestones. Her nails were painted the exact shade of lavender as her vest! Hestia looked pretty boring next to her in just her galaxy vest. We said hello briefly outside, and then moved inside as it was pretty cold and rainy.
Phoebe was great! She heeled wonderfully and took pretty much everything in stride. During her greeting a friendly stranger, she actually shook a little kid’s hand. She also did a heart rate alert!
For leaving a treat, the test says to use a mid-value treat, but I only had freeze dried lamb with me. So we used that, and Phoebe was so impressive, she walked right over top of it!
Hestia on the other hand was not so great. She kept popping up on her hind feet in excitement! And she let out more than one bark (one at a time at different times). I was SO embarrassed by Miss Hestia’s behavior.
Being my first real outing in like two weeks, I did get a bit overstimulated and overwhelmed. Instead of doing a paws up or anything, Hestia just started misbehaving! Luckily Brad noticed and told me to pick her up, which helped immensely.
Phoebe passed the Manners Evaluation with flying colors, and Brad and I had a great time talking with Tammy! I’m really glad to meet them, and know we’ll have a lot of fun training together.
In fact, Tammy and Phoebe are going to help Hestia and me work on Hestia’s dog distraction! Yay, training buddy!
Afterwards, Brad and I went to Walmart to get Ollie food, and Hestia was nearly perfect. I wish she would behave that well when I am with other SD teams, but we have a plan to work on it now.
