This morning I had to get my blood drawn and tested. We woke up super early to head to the doctor’s office. While waiting, I read some Harry Potter– I have re-started book 5 recently. I was in book 5 in the print version last time I was reading, it was my 8th time through. Now I have the electronic version, and I decided to start at the beginning of book 5 (my favorite book). Hestia Jones (the auror Hestia is named after) has already made an appearance! In honor of Harry Potter, Hestia wore her Hufflepuff vest.
When we checked in, they weighed me. I thought I knew how much I weighed, but when I stepped on the scale it was 20 lbs off! At least, I thought it was 20 lbs off. When I got home, I weighed myself again, and it was right on. I am officially the heaviest I have ever been 🙁 But I have lost a little weight in the past few weeks when I’ve been walking every day and really watching what I eat.
We saw the doctor, she was great as always. She remarked again on how well behaved Hestia was. Apparently there are some service dogs who visit the clinic who are not quite so well behaved….. After she checked Brad over, too, we headed to the lab to get my blood drawn.
The lab techs were all very nice, and very happy to see Miss Hestia! We started out getting blood drawn from my right arm, as Hestia walks on my left. But the vein was really small and it blew out. So then they had to try my left arm. The veins on that side were much better, and it went off without a hitch. Brad took pictures, of course!
In all the pics I am wearing a yellow ruffly dress. Hestia is in her yellow and black Hufflepuff vest. I am sitting in a blood draw chair, and a tech with short blond hair is taking my blood.
