Today was the strawberry festival in Fort Mill! We decided to go as soon as they opened to beat the crowds, heat, and afternoon rain. When we got there, one of the two lots for people with disabilities was full, and it was only 5 min into the fair time! We pulled into the second lot and parked strategically so that hopefully people wouldn’t park next to us and block our ramp. We put out three orange cones (that we own for this purpose) to help people understand.
Then we went to the festival! It was super crowded already, so I had a lot of trouble. We spent about an hour there, and had some fun while we were there, though! My favorite part was dancing in the bubble machine with Miss Hestia! We had a very good time doing that, and were able to find a spot to dance away from the stage where the bubbles were being directed by the wind so I didn’t have to compete with throngs of children playing in the bubbles, too!
We didn’t get much there, just some fresh pickles and a bunch of strawberries! After an hour, both of us and Hestia were spent. So we headed back to our car.
When we got back to our car, only one of the three cones we had set out was there! We thought someone had stolen our cones! So we looked around the lot and found that someone had indeed stolen our cones to mark out their extra space for a ramp. How rude! Luckily no one parked next to us so we were able to get Brad into the car. And we took our cones back from the stealer! Someone was parking next to them when we drove off, and we noticed that their brand new (dealer plates, still) conversion van already had a big dent in the back. So they are not good drivers! Get your own cones! (Brad says they might have thought the cones were publicly available and the van might have been dented before they got it, but I like my version better!)
Anyway, here are the pictures Brad took while we were there. I am wearing my red sugar skulls dress. Hestia had a red mesh vest on, and bearded Brad had a blue blazer and red scarf.

Beautiful and exciting! The great pictures and descriptions helped me feel like I got to be there too! THANK YOU VERONICA AND BRAD AND HESTIA! You prove life can be fantastic with the right partners!!
With all you two have to deal with, I think it’s wonderful you still get out and have fun.
And may many large birds poop on the windshield of whomever stole your cones. 🙂 I’m glad you were able to get them back.
Ollie, during his Goth stage, was all I could think of with that zebra striped guitar 😛 Pass the pickles!!
LOL Ollie would have loved a guitar like that!

Brad is especially pleased with your comment, as pictures and photo descriptions were the things he did! Thanks!
