Today we went to get our eyes checked! It had been about 8 years since we had our eyes evaluated. We went to In Focus Eyecare: https://infocuseye.com/ . Everyone there was great! We had really good service. And they let Brad and me be in the room for each others’ exams. This is important for me because I have a horrible memory, so I need Brad to both give history, and to remember what the eye doctor said. We saw Dr. Neff, and we even got to look at pictures of our retinas!
Hestia stayed in my lap for all of it. Dr. Neff was going to move the big chair out of the way so Brad could stay in his wheelchair! It was such a nice thought! Luckily Brad could transfer, though, as it seemed like moving the chair would be a kinda big deal.
Our prescriptions didn’t change a lot– in fact, mine got better! But we needed new glasses for sure. We looked at all the glasses they had with the help of Gina, and found that we were liking the size of glasses in the kids section! We like small glasses, at least compared to the bigger frames that seem popular nowadays. Brad was easy to please, he wanted a blue tortishell look to his glasses, and he found two pairs that were almost identical that he liked. The one he picked had more turquoise arms and sparkles in the plastic (not that noticeable and he didn’t care). The other pair had darker blue arms, and had more black in the mix.
My glasses were harder. I tried on a lot of different frames, but kept coming back to liking red square glasses. Brad had to take pictures of me in each pair because I couldn’t see how they looked without my glasses on! In the end, I was deciding between two– both of which weren’t available to try on at that point. The plastic kids’ frames I could try on, but they weren’t in the color I wanted (burgundy and black). They also found some metal ones similar to my current red square glasses (scratched to heck). Both from the same company, and from the same company as my old red ones! So they are ordering those and I can come back in a week and try them on to see which ones I want.
Gina was absolutely great about this. We spent like 1 or 2 hrs there looking at frames, I think we must’ve tried on every pair in the kids’ section he he! But they were great, and she really knew her stuff.
Here are the two options I ended up liking, or I could get new lenses for my old red square glasses:
CHEF:
DABO:
Or I could go with something totally new, like this one:
Which do you like better? Keep in mind that my strong prescription means my eyes look a lot smaller in them than they do with the non-prescription lenses.
Here are the frames Brad picked:
Here are the pictures we took:

Nice peepers, Brad!!
I like the Chef ones, Dr V. Great self care, Team Morris!! <3
Thanks! I added another option, too– to try something totally new! I have to call tomorrow to see if the glasses person there thinks the frames I’ve found (same designer) will look good on my face shape.
Great glasses on Brad, lookin’ good! I love the Large Cats Eye Glasses with Flowers on you Veronica. Fun getting new glasses.
You all continue to be exceptionally photogenic!
