Today has been a busy day! Especially for poor Brad. He stayed up late last night filling out his disability recertification paperwork. Then we had to get up early and get g0ing. So his day started out with him in energy deficit.
First we stopped by aunt Nancy and cousin Tam’s house! Hestia was so happy I couldn’t contain her! I ended up just holding her around the chest away from my body while she moved her legs like she was running. It was pretty funny!
We stayed a short time, just enough to pick up more kombucha, yuuuuuuummmmmmmm. Then we headed over to Brad’s parents’ house to drop off some chicken from Nancy! Already we were at a max for Brad’s energy, but we still had Out on the Town class.

Brad reclining in his wheelchair. He is bundled up with a wool blanket and his Ravenclaw scarf and hat that he knitted.
I told Brad on the way to class that he shouldn’t take pictures because really he was too tired to hold the camera. So when we got there, he laid back in his wheelchair (LOVE tilt/recline!) and soaked in the sun. I got a picture of him all bundled up. It was sunny and chilly, but I think he was warm enough with all his layers in the sun.
Class was lots of fun. The field we were in had been painted with lines, so that made it easier to work on heeling in a straight line! We worked on giving treats while walking, which is something I’ve been struggling with lately. We worked on getting your dog into heel position, and then on recalls!
Hestia was SO cute doing the recalls. She runs so cutely I almost can’t stand it! She did get away from me once, but just went over to say hi to her Havanese friend Cooper. After that I held the leash much tighter!
I got to try out a Leanlix stick that Cooper’s mom had, and Hestia wouldn’t lick it. So now I know not to spend my money on that. It was an exciting class with one dog getting the zoomies twice and getting away from her owner! Lula was having a BLAST! But we all got a good lesson on grabbing the collar after a come, BEFORE giving the treat jackpot.
Since Brad was feeling so poorly, I took a few pics of Hestia in class.
Now we are home, and Brad is looking forward to a day off tomorrow. I just have one meeting in the morning tomorrow, so it will mostly be a rest day for me, too.
PS if anyone wants to learn more about Brad’s disability, check out the movie Unrest. It is streaming for free on Netflix! We own a copy, so if you want to borrow it, just let us know and we’re happy to lend it out!
