Today has been busy, and Hestia is GREAT! This morning I called 24 doctors to see if any of them would treat Brad for his Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Of those 24, we got 1 appointment, and it is in May. I have 13 more that I need to call tomorrow.
Then we went to Starbucks with NAMI friends 🙂 I got myself one of the special drinks to reward myself for all my research and phone calling. Yesterday and this morning I went through listings of 400 doctors that said they treated CFS. So I did a LOT of work. We had fun at Starbucks 🙂
But what I really wanted to talk about was the grocery store that we went to on the way home. I forgot to bring treats with me, but remembering last time we went out and she was so great with not pulling, I decided to just try her and see how she did.
She did FANTASTIC! She was focused on me, she only pulled like twice, was easily redirected when she did pull, ignored people and food on the floor with a cue…. I think that at 3.5 years old, Hestia has finally grown a brain and understands loose leash walking! She was mostly in a forward heel position, but I wasn’t too fussy about position. I just focused on praise when she was not pulling on the leash.
Brad got a picture of us in the store, with me holding things in both hands and Hestia being hands free! The last few items didn’t fit in the basket, so I carried them around and directed Hestia only by vocal commands! I was a proud mama! In the picture you can see me wearing a yellow shirt, pink skirt, and green and orange leggings. I am holding a bag of apples and a loaf of gluten cinnamon raisin free bread in one hand, and a bag of gluten free bread in the other hand.
Public Access Test in California, here we come! If Hestia remembers her brain still, she’ll have no problem passing a PAT with a score of 100%!
I LOVE IT when they finally hit that stage <3 <3 YAY EMPRESS!!!!!!
And you are amazing. Way to plow through that! Here's to solutions, manageability of symptoms, all that. Go Team Morris!!!!!!
Thank you! Now if only she’ll keep her brain for the next month LOL!
